This illustration was concept art for a short story, called Animal Society, a satire.

Here we see five characters (three in the background): 

- Miss Bunny, a spoiled and bright, rich girl, heiress of a big company;

- Mr. Cat L'orange, sucessfull engineer and social climber, with very poor backgrounds;

- Sam Frogg: looks like the typical country bumpkin, always barefoot and slow. However, in reality he is a detective, and a very good one. 

- Lady Hippo: the spinster no one wants to marry. She thinks is because of her weight and puts herself through some crazy diets; but her figure has nothing to do with it. The gentlemans hide from her because she is the biggest gossip you've ever seen.

- Birdy Greene: best friend of lady hippo, she is a wealthy widow. All her four previous husbands died on very weird circumstances.
